Bristol Energy Cooperative’s (BEC) new solar farm in Lawrence Weston has been switched on and is generating electricity. This makes BEC the biggest community energy company in the UK by capacity. The solar farm, built by Solarcentury, will power the equivalent of 1,000 homes. The solar farm and accompanying community fund will help bring a boost to the area.

Solar panels have also been installed on Coniston Community Centre, Patchway.
There’s still time to invest in BEC’s bond offer – but only just! Deadline is Thursday 30 June. Visit the BEC website for more info.
