Lockleaze: The Future and Community Energy Feast

Well done Lockleaze Hub & Buzz Lockleaze Energy Feast!
On 4th February 2017 BEN joined Lockleaze Hub & Buzz Lockleaze for a family friendly event to find out about what’s happening in Lockleaze. This included developments at Romney House and Shaldon Road community-led housing with Bristol Community Land Trust, learning about solar energy and thermal imaging with Bristol Energy Network, as well as speaking to North Bristol Energy Smart about switching and saving money on your energy bills. There was also the opportunity to sign up to be an energy champion. People also brought their bikes that needed fixing and other small items that have broken that needed some help fixing in the Repair Cafe. United Housing Association sponsored the event through their Community Energy Fund grant to recruit local energy champions.
The event was a huge success bringing together a range of community organisations based in Lockleaze. Bristol Energy Network supported the event with range of activities including thermal imaging (Cold Homes Energy Efficiency Survey Experts taster) & solar panel making taster (with Demand Energy Equality) and an energy quiz. The event was followed by community energy champions for United Housing Association. The event was completed by a special energy Bring and Share one-pot special at Buzz Lockleaze with the best dish winning a slow cooker.
