Friends of the Earth regional gathering

This Saturday 18 Feb, National FoE are organising an update for local FoE groups and friends around the South West meeting in Bristol. It's a great opportunity to meet national FoE staff.

The main theme is ENERGY and in the morning there are three presentations:

· FINAL DEMAND – Friends of the Earth’s campaign to hold the “Big Six” energy companies to account – Dave Powell, FOE Economist

· ATLANTIC ARRAY – Plans for an offshore wind farm in the Bristol Channel that could power up to 40% of the region’s homes – Robert Thornhill and Paul Carter of RWE

· COMMUNITY ENERGY INITIAITIVES – What’s going on in Bristol and elsewhere that gives local people more say and more control in how they save and generate energy – Tim Atkinson, FOE, and Mark Leach of Bristol city council

These plus networking, Open Space and Campaign Skills sessions should make for a great day.

Times: 10:30 for 11:00 start, 5:10 finish then gather in the Shakespeare pub next door.

Refreshments provided but please make your own arrangements for lunch.
