Energy – global, long term perspectives: for what should we prepare?

Prepare for change 8th workshop, 1pm – 4.30pm

Energy global, long term perspectives: for what should we prepare?

There are many reports and policy statements on energy supply, distribution and demand for the UK, but what is the global context and what are the trends, and the different forecasts and opinions for the future?

Energy is vital for all aspects of society yet we are faced with great uncertainty. These are some of the questions that this workshop will consider:

  • What are the development pathways for existing technologies? What new technologies might emerge?

  • What might future global energy systems look like? How might this affect the UK and therefore Bristol?

  • Are there any strategies that organisations in a city like Bristol could adopt to best prepare for change?

The workshop will, as usual, report on the horizon scanning that the Prepare for Change Monitoring Unit has done since the last workshop, looking at the consequences for the region. page1image13504
