With the cold weather almost upon us, the theme of the next Bristol Energy Network open meeting will be fuel poverty and how the Green Deal and Energy Company Obligation (ECO) can be tapped into to support individuals most at risk from living in cold homes. The evening will include an introduction to the issues and examples of projects that are being set up or are already running locally to address fuel poverty. This will lead to a brainstorming session looking at what barriers to delivering ECO there are and what the groups that make up Bristol Energy Network can do to get involved. As always, there will be an update session for all groups to share their latest projects and events with others.
Provisional agenda for the evening (TBC):
· Introduction – people affected by fuel poverty and how to tap into the ECO (Energy Company Obligation)
· Examples of what can work – briefings from EEG (insulation scheme), Future Fit (Green Deal projects), WISH (fuel poverty advice project), ELENA (Bristol Go Early initiative)
· Updates from the groups
· Workshop – barriers to community approaches, opportunities and ways to proceed
This event is FREE and we’ll also be providing sandwiches, tea, coffee and biscuits! Doors will open at 6.30 for sandwiches and chat with the talk starting at 7 pm prompt.
