The Energy Transition Conference 2023 took place on Saturday 24 June at Kings Weston House, Bristol.

About the Event

This year’s conference, titled “Unleashing Community Energy,” aimed to accelerate Bristol’s journey towards a cleaner and more sustainable energy future.

Thanks to the generous sponsorship of the University of Bristol Business School, Bristol City Leap, and OVO Energy, this conference brought together key stakeholders, experts, and passionate community members. Throughout the conference, we collectively delved into the challenges of climate change and emphasised the pivotal role that collective action plays in transitioning to renewable energy sources.

A distinguished line-up of speakers shared their expertise and insights at the conference. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of this conference, and we look forward to continuing our collaborative efforts in driving Bristol towards a greener and more sustainable future.

After the conference concluded, attendees had a unique opportunity to visit a community-owned wind turbine located in Avonmouth, in close proximity to Kings Weston House. This onshore wind turbine, operated by Ambition Community Energy C.I.C. (ACE), is a testament to the efforts of Ambition Lawrence Weston, a local charity dedicated to sustainable development.
