Energy is an important aspect of all our lives. We use energy, such as electricity and gas, to heat our homes and buildings, heat water, cook our food and much more. However, our current energy system is not working: many people cannot afford the energy they need and most of our energy comes from burning fossil fuels which is environmentally damaging. Bristol Energy Network has over twenty members (groups and individuals) involved in many different energy projects. This includes assisting people struggling to pay their energy bills, advising people on how to reduce their energy use and renewable energy projects, such as installing solar panels on community buildings.
We are looking for new directors to join our board. We are particularly looking for skills and experience in: HR, people management, training, policy, legal and community outreach. We are keen to ensure the network is representative of the community it serves, and especially those most affected by energy issues such as fuel poverty. Therefore, we particularly welcome applications from BME communities, older people, disabled people and low-income communities.
All our welcome to join our AGM:
