DECC announced a new £10 million fund last week which is to support community groups with local energy assessments (home energy audits). It will provide around £50,000 to about 200 community projects around the country. As well as energy assessments funds can also be used for other work around community engagement and carbon reduction, including the portential of feasibility studies for renewable energy and installation of demonstration energy saving technologies (e.g. solid wall isulation). Slightly crazily it's all got to happen by March 2012.
